Mission
1. To adjust the urban structure following to growth direction in line with the public transportation system.
2. To organize the community system and subcenter component in order to distribute the urban development and promote the polycentric policy.
3. To create the job and housing balance around urban fringe of Bangkok by developing urban subcenter in suburb area along outer-ring road.
4. To restrict urban development in the necessary area for flood protection.
5. To set up the principle of urban development under the co-operation between the governmental and private sector.
6. To establish the specific development plan.

Strategy
To establish the urban development plan, which leads to develop, control and manage the city systematically as follows:

1. To plan and develop the Bangkok Comprehensive Plan (Revised II).
2. District-level development plan.
3. To create the Land Use Master Plan and Dindaeng - Muggasun transportation system.
4. To set up the framework for Sanamlaung development.
5. The sporting town development in Nongchok district.
6. To follow, inspect and evaluate the land-use in order to assure that they have been used practically to the plan, the Bangkok Comprehensive Plan, and the City Planning Regulations, and the relating Interior Ministerial announcement to the city planning.
7. To study and create the principle of city plans in order to make the city planning works enact as the laws.
